Summer 2006

'FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD'

A Play by Matthew White from the novel by Thomas Hardy

Performance dates: Wednesday 28th June - Saturday 1st July 2006 - 7.30 pm

Director: Phil Courage

Venue: Monkton Farleigh Manor - Picnics from 6.00 pm

A wonderful venue for this classic Wessex tale. Set in Dorset in the 1840s, passions run high as the beautiful, young Bathsheba Everdene is pursued by three men who seek her love. Who will she choose....?

We are delighted to return to Monkton Farleigh Manor by kind permission of Sir Charles Hobhouse, just four miles from Bradford-on-Avon and within easy reach of Bath, Box, Bathford, Batheaston and surrounding villages (click here for map). Bring a picnic and enjoy the wonderful views in this lovely setting.
