'Peter Pan'

Based on the novel by J M Barrie

Performance dates: 14th - 18th February 2006

Director: Jennifer Riddle - Assistant Director: Helen Sanders

Here is all the charm of Barrie, of Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, the Darling Family, Indians, Pirates and the Lost Children of Neverland in this sparkling British Musical of this ageless classic. With a little technical wizardry, creative lighting and a fantastic cast of 30, this production will thrill all ages taking us from the cosy warmth of the Darling's home in Bloomsbury, deep into the forest of Neverland where we meet the fearsome Captain Hook, do battle with the pirates, escape death in the Mermaids' Lagoon and where good finally vanquishes evil. We also experience the dilemma, when, with Wendy's arrival in Neverland, Peter is forced to question his decision never to grow up.

While the principal characters of Mr. Darling/Captain Hook, Peter Pan and Wendy will require good singing voices, there are many roles which do not.

A FEW WORDS FROM THE CHAIRMAN - PETER PAN

I am writing this short note a couple of days after we finished Peter Pan, and what a great show it was! To all of you who were involved, acting, back stage, front of house, lighting, props, costumes, or just helping out, thank you all very much. The show was a great credit to the Society. Whilst I would not wish to single out anybody in particular, I must add that I was extremely impressed by the talent and enthusiasm of the young people who took part, well done! I believe very strongly that the Bradfordians has a role in promoting Performing Arts, and particularly to young people. Jenny's production of Peter Pan was a very good example of us again giving youngsters the opportunity to take part in theatre outside of the school environment, and one that we should continue.

Thanks to everyone who helped in anyway, before or during production week.
