Everyone knows the story of the girl who falls asleep for one hundred years after pricking her finger on a spindle. But how do we know it? Probably through a whole series of
cartoons, children's books, pantomimes or ballets which have taken it away from its roots. But could you say for certain how the talking fish comes into the story? Or the crucial
number of gold plates? The Bradfordians' version goes back to the original tale by the Brothers Grimm (which is not called Sleeping Beauty anyway!) and stays faithful to it, while
at the same time adding some new characters - a villainous Countess, a foundling who cannot speak - and lots and lots of dancing.
Thanks to everyone who helped in anyway, before, during and after each performance.
